I think I'm just too nice.

It's the day before Thanksgiving
and I went to Tower Records to pick up some items of interest.
Anyone who has ever shopped regularly at a Tower Records store would
be familiar with the average sales clerk employed by the music chain.
So when I saw the senior citizen behind the counter, one would assume
Christmas hire. I decided lets go to the grandpa instead of the
usual grunge employee. My purchase totaled $54 and some
change so I handed him a $50 bill and a $5 dollar bill.
He rang it up as $100 and began to count out the change of $45. There was no way I could take advantage of
grandpa who was looking to earn a little extra cash during the
holidays so I quickly pointed out to him that it was $55 I
handed him, not $100. I don't want him to get fired on his first week of
Christmas work. It would be a great discount, but I would feel
hecka guilty for taking advantage. I can't help but think that
most people would not have spoken up and would have walked away with an 80%
discount on the purchase. Am I some kind of chump or what?
I just don't have it in me to take advantage of people. I'm too nice.
