This morning as I left the
house for work, it was a typical foggy morning for the Sunset
neigborhood. I noticed behind me at the end of the Noriega side,
what looked like a big truck with police lights on top parked in the middle of
the street. Didn't make much of it until I started driving out
towards Ortega Street and saw a police car and flares blocking the way
out. Seemed they didn't want to let cars pass onto Ortega. So I
turned it around and went towards Noriega. That's when I realized they
actually didn't want people going into my block.
I was in the blocked off
zone. Apparently the police truck on the Noriega end was there on a
call outside the Affinity Bank and inspecting carefully the contents of
the corner trash can. There were four officers carefully removing the
contents from the trash can. I have no idea what they were looking for
but it was apparently important enough to close off traffic from all
directions leading to that intersection.
A nice way to start a
Monday morning.
