Happened in Vegas about 7 years ago

It's
pretty hard to gang up on someone at a table unless you're not playing
fair......I've got a great story about two guys trying to gang up on me
one time.....
I'd,
admittedly, made a couple of bad plays in a short period of
time....these two guys starting talking about my playing....as if I
wasn't even there......at one point one of them said I'd have to be an
idiot to make that call.......I said nothing up until that point.....at
that point I said, "Dude, if I want to hear from an *sshole, I'll
fart." The table just fell out and this guy got pissed so he
and his buddy starting trying to bully me at the table......then God
stepped in and made it all right.
I
get dealt Ace, 10 of clubs (in hold 'em)....the flop comes 3 clubs. (so,
I have the nut flush from the start) I bet, one of the jerks
raises me and the other jerk raises him....everyone else dropped
out.....I raise back and the other guy raised me the last time.
(you can only raise 3 times per round in this particularly game)
The next card comes....and we max the bets again.......same with the
last card.
These
guys are talking sh*t the whole time.....and when the final call is made
one of the guys throws over his straight....the other guy throws over
his K 9 of clubs and both are smiling, smiling, smiling (they were
obviously buddies).......I slowly and with great showmanship
say....wow...pretty darn good hands.......then as I show my
cards....first the 10 and then slid out the Ace...I say, "But not
good enough...".......several people at the table just said
"Wow" in unison.....you should have seen their faces....like
they'd seen a ghost.......I just laughed quietly and raked in a 1000
dollar pot (no sh*t!).
They
didn't say another word to me and after a few more hands I graciously
said....well it's been a pleasure.....and walked over to cash my
chips.....I watched my back till I got out of town. (Vegas)
One
